Start at Roma Termini

Drop luggage in station lockers if needed; wear comfortable shoes.

Trevi Fountain

Start your morning at the iconic fountain. Access is regulated (open 09:00–21:00, last entry 20:30), so arrive early to avoid queues and toss a coin for luck.

Spanish Steps & Trinità dei Monti

Walk (10 min) to Piazza di Spagna. Climb the Baroque staircase and visit the church of Trinità dei Monti (open 09:00–19:30 on Sundays and slightly later on weekdays). The steps are a public monument open 24/7.

Lunch near Trevi/Spanish Steps

Enjoy lunch at a trattoria or café in the historic centre. This break also gives time to explore nearby boutiques along Via dei Condotti.

Walk to Antica Dimora Delle Cinque Lune

Head toward Piazza Navona (~15 min walk); you can detour past the Pantheon on the way.

Check‑in & break

Drop bags at the hotel, rest and enjoy the rooftop terrace which overlooks Rome.

Piazza Navona & Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi

Two minutes’ walk from the hotel. Explore Bernini’s fountains and the lively square (open 24 hrs) and capture some photos.

Chiostro del Bramante

Around the corner on Via della Pace 5. The ticket office closes at 19:00 and exhibitions remain open an hour later. Enjoy Renaissance architecture and current art shows.

Travel to the Colosseum

Take a bus or taxi to the Colosseum area (allow ~30 min) and arrive a little early for your timed entry.

Colosseum (ticketed entry)

Use your 17:45 ticket to explore the Colosseum. Summer opening hours extend to 19:15 (last entry 18:15), so you’ll have just over an hour to visit the arena and exterior.

Dinner & evening

After your visit, dine in the Monti neighbourhood near the Colosseum or return toward Piazza Navona. For live music, consider classical concerts in nearby churches or jazz bars in Trastevere.

Sunday

Check out & store luggage

Leave bags at the hotel reception for the day. Have breakfast on the rooftop terrace.

Leisurely walk along the Tiber

Cross Ponte Sant’Angelo towards Castel Sant’Angelo. Enjoy views of the river and photo-ops of St. Peter’s dome.

Visit Castel Sant’Angelo

The massive round fortress, once Hadrian’s mausoleum, now houses a museum and panoramic terraces. It is open Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–19:30 (last entry 18:30). Spend about 1½ hours exploring its ramparts, papal apartments and the Angel’s Terrace for sweeping photos over Rome.

Walk Via della Conciliazione

Head toward St. Peter’s Basilica.

St. Peter’s Basilica

Entry is free; open 07:00–19:10 daily. On Sundays there may be Papal Angelus at 12:00; plan to arrive afterwards to avoid closure. Visit the nave, Michelangelo’s Pietà and, if you wish, climb the dome (last entry ~17:00). Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered).

Lunch in Borgo or return to Piazza Navona

Try a trattoria on Borgo Pio or head back to the hotel neighbourhood for lunch.
